Furthering its University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI) Ripple has added one of China’s top Universities to the roster.
Joining the likes of MIT, Stanford and Princeton in Ripple’s UBRI, the Institute of Fintech Research at Tsinghua University (THUIFR) has launched the Blockchain Technology Scholarship Program (BRSP) for “excellent graduate students in China in 2019” a press release from THUIFR stated. Through the UBRI, Ripple has been joining forces with academic institutions worldwide to further and support and accelerate academic, technical and innovation research in Ripple’s focus areas of: digital payment, cryptocurrency and blockchain.
THUIFR plans to develop cutting edge research with respect to global regulations and policies on blockchain technology and have students participate in corporate visits and partner events. In the same press release, Ivy Gao, Director of International Cooperation & Development said “The BRSP aims to help students have a comprehensive view of the latest international regulations on blockchain technology and most importantly, I believe this program would greatly help with their future research or career in the field of blockchain technology.”
Ripple has committed $50MM into blockchain academic research and has more than 17 universities participating in the UBRI, including those in: Australia, Brasil, Cyprus, India, Luxembourg, Netherlands, South Korea, USA, UK and Canada’s University of Waterloo.
